This Privacy Policy explains how The Fitting Room Canada Inc. ("The Fitting Room," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, stores and shares personal information when you use our website, mobile applications, virtual try-on technology and related services.
Our technology allows you to create a personalized 3D avatar, explore clothing through virtual try-on, compare sizes and receive personalized fit recommendations.
Providing these services may involve processing information about your body. We recognize that this information can be sensitive and believe you should understand how it is handled.
2. Privacy at a Glance
Here are some important things to know:
- Your original scan video is deleted after processing. This also applies when avatar generation fails after upload.
- Your avatar and measurements are saved for your use. This allows you to return to virtual try-on without scanning again.
- You can delete your account. Our mobile app includes a Delete Account feature that removes your avatar, measurements and associated account information from our active systems.
- Fashion brands don't receive your underlying 3D avatar or detailed body measurements. They receive the virtual try-on experience and sizing results.
- Brand analytics are aggregated. The reports we provide to participating retailers are not intended to identify individual shoppers.
- Your avatar and measurements are currently stored in the United States.

3. Information We Collect
Account Information
When you create an account, we collect information necessary to register and manage it.
This may include your email address, authentication information, account identifiers and related account details.
We use third-party authentication technology to help provide account access.
Body Scan Information
If you choose to create a personalized avatar, our mobile application captures a 360° body scan.
This recording allows our technology to reconstruct your body in three dimensions and estimate your measurements.
Because the scanning process may involve minimal, form-fitting clothing, the video can contain sensitive information about your body.
Personalized Avatars and Body Measurements
From your scan, we generate a personalized 3D avatar and estimate body measurements.
We store the resulting avatar and measurements in association with your account so you can use them for future virtual try-on experiences.
Virtual Try-On Information
When you use virtual try-on, we may process information about selected garments, sizes, simulation requests and the technical information necessary to provide the experience.
When you use your personalized avatar, your estimated body measurements may also be processed to generate fit comparisons and sizing recommendations.
Contact Information
If you contact us through our website or email, we collect the information you provide, such as your name, email address, company or organization, inquiry type and message.
Technical Information
When you use our website, mobile app or virtual try-on services, our systems and service providers may process technical information.
This can include IP addresses, device and browser information, authentication events, system requests and information required for security, troubleshooting and service operation.
4. How We Handle Your Body Scan
When you create a personalized avatar, The Fitting Room processes your 360° body scan to generate a 3D representation of your body and estimate your measurements.
Incomplete or unsuccessful scans that do not pass the mobile application's scanning process are not uploaded to our servers.
When a completed scan is uploaded, the original video is deleted from our processing systems after avatar generation.
If avatar generation fails after upload, the original video is also deleted.
Your generated avatar and associated measurements are stored separately so you can continue using our virtual try-on services without repeating the scanning process.
The original scan video is not retained as part of your ongoing avatar profile.
5. Virtual Try-On With or Without a Personalized Avatar
You can create an account and explore The Fitting Room using a ready-made avatar without providing a body scan.
A ready-made avatar is intended to demonstrate the virtual try-on experience and does not represent your individual body measurements.
If you choose to create a personalized avatar, we use your estimated body measurements to provide personalized fit comparisons and size recommendations.
6. How We Use Your Avatar and Measurements
Your personalized avatar and associated body measurements allow us to provide The Fitting Room's virtual try-on and fit recommendation services.
We combine this information with garment data, including patterns, construction, sizing and fabric properties, to help simulate how clothing looks, drapes and fits.
This allows you to:
- Explore clothing on your personalized 3D avatar.
- Compare how garments fit in different sizes.
- Examine fabric drape and garment appearance.
- Receive personalized size recommendations.
- Reuse your avatar across supported virtual try-on experiences.
Your avatar and measurements remain associated with your account until deleted in accordance with our data practices.
7. Information Shared With Fashion Brands
The Fitting Room works with participating fashion retailers to provide virtual try-on and sizing experiences through their websites.
When you use our technology through a participating retailer, we provide the rendered virtual try-on experience and sizing results.
We do not provide participating retailers with your underlying personalized 3D avatar model or detailed body measurements.
We may also provide participating brands with aggregated analytics that help them understand how shoppers use virtual try-on and evaluate the experience.
These aggregated reports are not intended to identify individual shoppers.
Participating retailers may independently collect information through their own websites. Their collection and use of information are governed by their own privacy policies.
8. Research and Technology Improvement
We continually work to improve The Fitting Room's technology.
Our body reconstruction algorithms are currently developed and tested using separate research and testing datasets.
We do not currently use personalized avatars or body measurements collected through production customer accounts to train our body reconstruction algorithms.
We may use appropriate technical and operational information to maintain, secure, troubleshoot and improve the performance of our services.
If we introduce materially different uses of personal body information for research or algorithm training, we will update our disclosures and obtain additional consent where required.
9. Future Features
We plan to introduce additional features over time, including personalized fashion discovery and clothing recommendations based on body shape and individual style preferences.
These features are not currently available, and we are not currently collecting style preferences specifically for that future recommendation service.
Before introducing new features that involve additional personal information or new processing purposes, we will update our privacy disclosures and provide any choices or consent required by applicable law.
Our longer-term vision also includes technology that could enable personalized, Made-to-Fit clothing manufacturing. This is not a currently available consumer service.
10. Website Analytics and Cookies
Our redesigned marketing website uses Cloudflare services for hosting, delivery, security and website analytics.
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand website traffic and performance.
Cloudflare Web Analytics is designed to provide information such as page views and website performance without using analytics cookies or tracking visitors across different websites.
Other technologies necessary for website security, authentication or embedded services may use cookies or similar mechanisms.
We may update our analytics tools over time. When changes materially affect how personal information is collected or used, we will update this Policy and provide any legally required choices or consent.
11. Third-Party Service Providers
We use third-party technology and service providers to help operate The Fitting Room.
Depending on their roles, these providers may assist with:
- Website hosting, delivery and security.
- Application and infrastructure hosting.
- Account authentication.
- Database and system operations.
- Technical monitoring and troubleshooting.
- Contact-form processing.
- Website analytics.
- Other activities necessary to operate our services.

12. Where Your Information Is Stored
Your personalized 3D avatar and associated body measurements are currently stored on servers located in the United States.
We operate and manage our primary application database using infrastructure hosted in the United States.
Other service providers may process certain categories of information in the countries where they operate or provide their services.
Information processed or stored in the United States may be subject to U.S. laws, including lawful requests from government authorities.
International handling of personal information remains subject to applicable privacy laws and requirements.
13. How Long We Keep Your Information
We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide our services, fulfill the purposes described in this Policy or meet applicable legal obligations.
Our principal practices are:
Original scan videos: Deleted from processing systems after avatar generation, including where reconstruction fails after upload.
Incomplete scans: Scans that do not pass the mobile application's scanning process are not uploaded to our servers.
Personalized avatars and measurements: Stored to support your ongoing account and virtual try-on experiences. Deleted from active systems when you delete your account.
Account information: Stored while your account is active and deleted from active systems when you delete your account.
Contact inquiries: Retained as needed to respond to inquiries, maintain appropriate business records and meet applicable legal obligations.
Technical and security records: Retained as reasonably necessary for service operation, security, troubleshooting and applicable legal requirements.
Information in backups or records subject to legal preservation requirements may have different deletion schedules from information in active systems.
14. Deleting Your Account
You can delete your account at any time using the Delete Account feature in The Fitting Room mobile app.
Deleting your account also deletes your personalized 3D avatar, stored body measurements and associated account information from our active systems.
Once your account is deleted, you will no longer be able to access the personalized avatar associated with it.
If you later create a new account and want personalized fit recommendations, you may need to complete a new body scan.
Certain information may remain where retention is legally required or permitted, including information subject to applicable backup or preservation procedures.

15. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on your location and applicable laws, you may have rights to:
- Request access to personal information we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate personal information.
- Request deletion of eligible personal information.

No internet-connected service can guarantee absolute security.
We review our security practices as our systems and services evolve and respond to security incidents in accordance with applicable legal requirements.
17. Children's Privacy
The Fitting Room's personalized avatar and body-scanning services are intended for adults aged 18 and older.
Users must confirm that they are at least 18 years old during account registration.
Our personalized scanning services are not intended to be used to scan minors.
If we learn that an account or scan involves someone under 18 in violation of our eligibility requirements, we will take appropriate action, including restricting access and deleting information where appropriate and legally permitted.
18. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our technology, services, privacy practices or legal obligations.
The Effective Date at the beginning of this Policy identifies the current version.
